Clown Eckie's 8ft High Unicycle

Picture
Eddie and dear friend Sue Steel (Known as FXW his future-ex-wife)

Clown Eckie dazzled audiences at theatres, street festivals, store openings, and even in the award-winning "You've Been Tango'd" TV advertisement, all while riding his high unicycle and playing music on his "Exploding Concertina"

(now on display at the Museum of Buffoonery).

His most memorable performance was at L&W Big Top Circus at Pleasureland in Southport, UK, where the great Robin Williams was in the audience during a matinee show in the summer of 1995.
Be sure to visit the Museum to ask Eckie about this and many more great experiences he had in his hay-days as a high flying unicyclist!

Vintage Clown Head - 1959

Picture
The old clown head has seen better days, but still survived being shipped all over planet earth with Eckie's props.

Possibly the only surviving Clown Head originally displayed along the Golden Mile in Blackpool during the illuminations of 1959.

It was used alongside four others when it was attached to the full-size Circus Big Top of L & W Circus at the Pleasureland in Southport during their two summer seasons in 1995 &1996.

L & W Circus was named after the stage names of the owners, Lenusa Tenna/Charlotte-RIP & Willie Eckerslike/Clown Eckie.
